French Lake Holidays

Having just come back from Cornwall where we used our SIB to the max I am looking for a destination on a lake in France next year where we can camp in our tent and use our boat to the max again.
I know of Biscarosse however, I am open to further suggestions.
I am aware that a lot of lakes will not let you use a motorised boat unless it is electrically propelled.

We went to Lac D'Bourget a few years back, it was amazing!

The website takes a while to load for some reason. I'd check if powerboats are still allowed, we took a Fletcher and had a great time water skiing / wakeboarding. Amazing secenery and camping near the lake. Marine and concrete slip with beach one end for launching etc.

Lac Serre Poncon (second largest artificial lake in Europe). No speedlimits, lots of campgrounds directly on the lake.

Not quite a lake, but Morbihan is as close as you get & it's salty

I am currently looking at Lake Annency which is a clear favourite with the family at the moment.
Having never been to the Alps region I am quite keen on the idea.

Same weather pattern as Cornwall Pikey Dave and I have just come home 3 days early as a result of that.

Spent 10 days sailing the Morbihan 15 yrs ago in 'Bessie Ellen' A (75ft. Baltic schooner. Happy days. Any links to campsites near slips for solo sibbing that anyone knows? Marvelous place to be.

Good choice - Once you've done Annecy then take a look at a summer rib charter in Croatia - we took three family's, two ribs and toured several islands for six days then had a further four days in Trogir at a hotel with a pool. If you ever want the itinerary we followed then message me, my kids spend quite bit of time on ribs and still have this one trip as the most memorable (although last weeks Alderney trip was very popular with them). A large 7.5m rib worked out affordable split between two family's. Accommodation is as cheap or expensive as you want it to be.

I know it's not France, but lake Constance is quite big.

Hi,

just come back from Lake garda , we took our new honwave T35 with 20 mariner and it was fantastic, really hot , sometimes a bit choppy in the middle but would recommend it to anyone, though did have to use our scooter to tow it down to the lcampsite slipway as it was quite a steep hill which raised a few eyebrows lol

I have a similar outfit Andy and am really looking forward to the experience.
We had a great time on the Carrick Roads in Cornwall however, we suffered a lot of chop due to adverse weather conditions.
I have previously done Biscarosse with a Jetski and that was fun however, most of the camp sites in that area are too commercial for my liking and too noisy by night.
