One last question on floors??

Just one last question....hopefully. The SIB wil be used for inshore fishing.

How rigid and hardwearing are the airdecks when standing, stepping on them and at also at anchor.

I'm trying to convince myself the airdeck would be better as its easier to assemble, however the ply floor may well be more sturdy, last longer and be better at anchor?

Last question for now !!

Thanks

Bill

Ply and Ali will be more rigid and stable if you stand up but air floors are fine for fishing. If you have to assemble/disassemble each trip go for air.

At anchor all SIBs create hull slap which can be an issue in shallow water as it spooks fish.

Thanks all,

Well to make it easy and "user friendly" seems like I need to go for an airdeck and accept it for what it is. Thats it,enough dithering, I'll order the SIB in a day or so and let you all know what I've gone for.

Just about there, gone back to a solid floor after speaking to a few people.

Looks like it will be a Zodiac 340S. Seems to be the only one that fits the bill for my needs.

The only other alternative would be an airdeck with some form of loose protection, like rubber matting?

IKEA sells a roll of rubberised thin material that you're suppose to custom cut with scissors to lay down inside the drawer. It is very inexpensive (cheap). It is very tough (exception for Ikea?) and next to impossible to fishing hook trough. I bought 2 rolls that I'll be making a custom floor out of for my airdeck.

Air deck is so easy to assemble, comparing to the wood floor model I had, it is beyond believable, but I understand I have to be more carefull now.
I have yet to fish with this boat, I'll try and see how it is different from my old boat with wood floor.

Floors

Somebody should market an air deck boat, with a solid floor that you can insert if required....
