Agreed-it doesn't sound great.However, while it's not as bad as it's been painted,someone who's unused to it can be a bit daunted by it-specially at bridge lifting times. Think how often you need to use the Colregs anywhere else compared with coming in/out of Poole at slack water.

I Agree Pete. Blimey.its one of the most sureal places to go. anyway dont wear Wellies at the Wareham side. otherwise your be like George Michael and get sucked off in bogs

Peter that's a very kind offer, thank you. I'm unsure of the time we'll be getting down there though as we've got a house move to sort out first thing in the morning!

Just got back from Poole. Had 2 trips out, a short one around Brownsea on Friday and a slightly longer one down to Bournemouth pier today.

Today was much busier! Managed fine though with no scary moments. Got a bit choppy for my little SIB down towards the pier.

Thanks for the tips.
