All the very best and once again well done Alan P.

Heres a usless piece of information.

The very first Cowes Torquay power boat race was won by Tommy Sopwith who averaged a little over 20 knots for the 178 mile race.

Thanks chaps, it was all down to a team effort.

ARTW Alan...hmmmm, how about 'The Great Shetland SIB Expedition 2004'. (BTW that is only a joke!)

Another snippet of the 'adventure'.

Our Expedition received a v.good write up with photos in 'The Orcadian Newspaper'. So folks know we are here.

Friday afternoon....

A hairdressers shop in Kirkwall. Customers and staff are hairdressing away. Customer goes to leave the shop. Oh dear the door lock had broken and they can't open the door.

Help! They cry. We can't get out. We need someone to break into the shop to rescue us all.

Hmmm they ponder. That SOCO chappie is up here, he'll know how to break into places. One telephone call and a car dash later and your truly is at the shop and breaking in for them.

Result: customers and staff rescued and another pic for the local paper.

Why does all this stuff follow ME around?

Well here I am sitting in Kirkwall airport in Orkney waiting for my flight home. Luckily thay have a good public internet service so I am catching up with a week of RIBnet!

After yesterday's howling winds things have eased a bit and Cyanide and Magellan Alpha set off at early o'clock this morning to head down the east coast.

Their plan is to refuel at Peterhead sometime around now, and then push on to Amble tonight then Lowestoft tomorrow. Magellan Alpha will cross the channel and cruise along the French Coast to meet up with the Channel Islands cruse, and Cyanade will head west stopping overnight in Brighton on Monday night.

All plans subject to change etc etc . . .

John

Brian's wife here.
Thanks John, I wondered where B was heading after Lowestoft!
I've learned more about his trip by reading RIBnet than speaking to him - he's always so busy!!!

yipeeeeeeee!

Many more adventures later we have arrived in Torquay safe and sound, two weeks after setting out. It was funny coming back in from the other direction!

I managed to pick a fight with some ignorant rag and stick brigade members in Torquay Marina, but more of that later. Hey when youv'e sibbed across The Pentland Firth and been through Corrywreckan 20 ignorant sailors don't seem much of a threat.

Watch this space for more details.

Well done to all the crew.
