F470 Thrust Board/Bow Board

I have a 470 with a broken thrust board, I have talked to 4 people and seem to have gotten 4 opinions..surprise. Replacement option ...at least $1000.00, been told this is the only way to go, another said this repair will fail and is a ongoing problem. Bow board option.. remove thrust board and replace with bow board, one says this is a viable solution, another says this will not work as the bow area is not reinforced enough to take the pressure of the bow board, help?

I was going to remove the thrust board on my mkII Zodiac but managed to keep it. I did notice that the floor to tube joint was re-enforced. I think this would be quite simple to do though. Don't know if there are any other parts that need strengthening.

Bow Board

When my thrust board broke on my 470 repair costs were too expensive and was told results may be questionable, so despite some naysayers I fabricated a bow board from marine plywood. The bow board has worked quite well and i find is superior to the thrust board as you have a complete floor. I just did some detailed measuring starting with the width of thrust board(for base of bow board), my board is in the boat so i couldn't send you dimensions till fall
