F470 Keel

So my keel isn't holding air very well at the moment and it got me thinking rather than repair it what if I made something a little more maintenance free like a solid peice keel or even filling that whole section between the bottom of the boat and the floor boards (essentially that void that allows the keel to create the V shape). Has anyone here got some keel alternatives? I seem to remember reading about pool noodles and I think I've seen Fibre glass mold for the floor somewhere here as well. Any pics or suggestions would be much appreciated.

They're not difficult to fix.

But if you want some inspiration, take a look at assembly videos of the Bombard Commando.
