Expansion fuel tanks

I want to get an expansion tank for our Yamaha 6 outboard attached to our Brig Diablo 3m inflatable. My question is how long would a 25L tank of fuel last just poorling around? We're planning to go to a waterpark in Holland next month.
Thanks in adavance for any advice.

I had a 5hp yam which would do 20 miles on its internal tank running at WOT about 4hours running time Pushing a 5m fast fishers at 5kn if you want exact h/25lt just run engine on 0.25ltr and time

Hope that helps

Rule of thumb is WOT = 10% of HP in gallons per hour, obviously less at lower speeds but I'd work close to this as a general all round to be safe so maybe 10 hours for your 25 litres.

Thans for the answers. Now, where to get one and which make. Our local chandlers don't stock so I'll have to go online. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks for that. Sorry to keep banging on but apparantly according to Yamaha their expnsion tank only comes with a very long fuel hose. As the tank would sit directly underneath the outboard this would be far too long. Any suggestions?

i just cut the hose back to suit or just tie wrap the excess in a coil that way your not going to cause any probs.

OK. I hoped that was the case but didn't know if there were special connectors either end that might be difficult to re-attach.

Grateful thanks.

Nothing wrong and an easy job cutting fuel hose and re-making joints.... but I'd go for making a neat coil of the spare rather than shortening. You never know when you might want to put the tank nearer the bow for balance, use it in another boat, sell it on etc etc.

Thanks, guys. Just one more thing, if you don't mind, since you clearly have a lot of knowledge around inflatables. Not just because we're taking it abroad but presumably I need insurance for it, so any appropriate companies would be gratefully received.

Cheers
