Cleaning The Sib

dragged the sib out yesterday gave it a quick wash with soapy water noticed there was loads of small black spots dotted around the boat and a few black rubbery looking marks.

Whats the best way to remove the black marks without damaging the Sib

I only washed it with soapy water yesterday but i have the ribstore toob shine cleaner and hypatec protector ready to give it a good clean and polish later today

Of absolutely no help whatsoever but I have exactly the same problem. Think it's tar flicking up off the road while the boat is on the trailer.

Quite literally just finished cleaning mine with "Ribright". The black spots on mine I'm sure are black mould marks and the "Ribright" & scourer supplied have removed about 80% of them. Tomorrow (once it stops raining) it's the protector to put on. I've used it before and I know that works well.

If it's tar that's on the boat I find the best think for removing tar is petrol. Don't know how you feel about using that but the hypalon should be petrol resistant.

Try Fairy Power Spray. An old forum favourite.

cheers guys not had chance to get the boat out over the weekend ill have it out tomorrow for its final wash & polish/protector.

I will be fitting the transom wheels tomorrow and just waiting on the delivery of service parts for the outboard with any luck we will be on the water in the next week or two

Will this sealant do for the transom wheels? https://www.toolstation.com/shop/p85566

For sealing the mounting holes? Yes.

Remember - measure/check clearance*.

*Repeat three times minimum!

Drill small pilot holes first and then from each side to middle of transom to avoid breakout of the wood.
