Looking at the seating wouldn't it have been better with a central jockey seat and handlebars - would keep the c of g even lower.

Don't think so as now you can't get much lower as the seats are bolted to the floor already so sitting on a jockey would raise the C of G. The steering wheel is inbetween the legs of the drive (painful in a stuff)

. Personally I don't think you could get a lower C of G unless you sat under the boat.

I was thinking more jetski style than normal RIB - in fact there used to be a small SIB/RIB with that sort of setup.

That probably might be a bit more practical than the bucket seats and that set up is an option with this consul colour coded, but my only concern would that consul look a bit out of place?

as long as you keep your wallet low down in the boat you should be fine on the c of G

I am partial to yellow... apparently you are as well. Very cool looking little boat, I am sure it will be a blast. I really like the seats and the arrangement, seems more like a aircraft setup which is sensible since you'll probably be flying in it!

Can you only have the Mercury range on the boat then or will they indulge you if you said you wanted another engine?

I can imagine that they get big discounts on Mercury though.

I think the set up as it is is great...it was comfy enough for me in the passenger seat. Will have to reserve judgement on the driving position until I have sat in it.

Great boat though, you can certainly feel the acceleration is there, even in the chop.

The console arrangement in the picture looks good too. Would be worth trying as well.....decisions decisions.

IMHO the COG would be higher with a jockey seat, and with the cornering ability of those things you would miss the lateral support of the bucket seats - it would be interesting to find out what the owner of the console boat thought!

Hi, yes, the jockey seat set up has too higher gravity, apparently you are too on top of the Thunderbolt. Also as the Thunderbolt has the ability to corner so sharply at high speed the bucket seats hold you firmly in place.

I agree , you need to see that thunderbolt in the flesh to understand it . It is very high and although the tubes are huge the deck is near the top of the tubes .
My rib has a similar double jockey console and with no backrest its not the most secure feeling when its rough or turning hard . You would need footstraps and something to put you back against .

I fancied one but for the seating reasons etc it didn't seem such a good family boat .

That one with the jockey looks like Ceasar marines demmo boat

I think there is a bit of footage at Ceasarmarine .com . or just search for UK dealer there is only one I think .

If I could come up with a way of fitting one out for family comfort and weather protection I would consider one but the actual deck space didn't seem that big ,although its square so may be decieving. Also I think there are issues with flex and movement as its really a sib with deck boards more than a rib.

The only video I could find on the Ceasar marine site was of some thundercat racing footage. Nothing by way of video on the thunderbolt that I could find.

If you are in the area please feel free to give me a shout and I will happily take you out for a play. As for setting it up you could have four bucket seats side by side as you don't have to have a central helm position.
