Bombard

Had my first outing in a Bombard 380 yesterday think im a convert ;-) as for a main dealer saying there NO good for fishing pfftt

Only thing I would do is something comfy to sit on as I had sort ass pmsl afterwards,

Any way many thanks Stray for the trip even though the fish didn't wanna play ball and the conditions were on my limit and I think Strays with some nice lumpy swells,
but the I felt safe in the 380, Ive been browsing the web since I got home looking for a bombard

Glad you enjoyed it, it was a tough day for fishing. At least you got a feel for what the Bombard can handle, one ride out is better than a hundred videos.
It looks a lot better this morning,
but I have to paint the garage door.

Bombard

If you're after a new Aerotec, Barnet Marine have a grey one for £1995 including delivery.

Exactly the same as the red.
The 'Ltd Edition' grey probably marketing babble for not as popular. At least the light grey tubes will not absorb quite as much heat in the sun as the red. 😀

Same but red is faster!

And looks much better.

New price is silly expensive but there have been (still are) quite a few on eBay lately and one or two on here - expect to pay around £700 to £900 for a nice one but they hold their value once the initial depreciation has passed. Best thing is to look for an outfit with 15 2 stroke around £1800 and save a chunk on buying separately.

According to the 'Pirates Code' this only really applies to cars. But these are only guidelines. ⚓️

Sorry to interrupt, but why is the Aerotec bad for fishing? It's because of the deck's shape?

Love it !, My car is red and also goes like shi# of a stick urmm can a 15hp 2 smoke be re-mapped pmsl.

As for red I think it stands out better for other craft , as for the fishing I looked up a local dealer and on the web site it mentions that the 380 are NOT suitable for fishing

Off Dealers site

Whilst the Bombard Aerotec 380 is good at most things, we have to say that fishing is not one of them. The inflatable floor (and the slope on it) tends to make it a poor choice of inflatable boat for serious anglers.

Has anyone here ran one of these with a Twatsoo 9.8 or a Soozook DT25c 3-cyl (both 2-strokes)?

It is true in some respects, a flat solid floor SIB would always be favourite for fishing from being more solid, flat, easier to stand on and easier to bolt stuff to..... but plenty of people use the Aerotec for fishing - just pop a rubber flooring mat in or cut a thin piece of ply to cover and flatten it.

Bombard

I have a 9.8 Tohatsu 2st and a Suzuki DF20.
Great fun with the Suzuki but the 9.8 will still easily plane with one aboard, or two/three at a push, and still feels lively. Would say the boat really warrants 15hp min to realise its potential and have some fun.
However, mine is the grey one so acknowledge it will never keep up with those little Red Devils. 👹

Nasher's Bombard topic will be useful:
