best cleaner and protection for my boat

Hi new to the fourm and a new boat owner here. I was wondering if anyone could lead me into the right direction on which type of cleaner and or protective spary I shuould use on my achilles boat after being in the water. Its made out of hypalone material. I was told to try meguires which has a uv protection to it. Any advise is welcome. Thanks

I use Meguires as recommended by a bloke who makes and repairs RIBs, does't stay on long though before it needs re doing.

No, you want carnauba wax, not gel. It's in a tin.

Carnauba wax to clean? I don't think that would work too well. What do you use to clean? Interesting to read that some of you use Meguiar's because I work for Meguiar's Australia. Interested to hear how many of you use Meguiar's . Cheers.

Indeed, not to clean, but it protects the toobs from sun and makes them shine.

I find Aerospace Protectant 303 works a treat.

I never thought of using the Megs stuff, Ive got pretty much everything they do for detailing cars.

Wash down with fresh water after every trip and then an annual or biannual clean with RIB revive and a cover to keep the UV's off when I'm not using her is all I need to keep her tip top.

Same here, but instead of RIB revive for me it is a wipe down with a chamois

I'm a recent convert to traffic film remover. Smells like exactly the same stuff, works just as well and a fraction of the price

RIB Revive... I can't seem to find where to buy that in Australia! Any Aussie's on here with a suggestion for a product I can get in Australia to CLEAN my SIB?

tubes:-For a true deep clean I got hold of some G101 it's amazing stuff I don't know what it does but I put abit on scrubbed and it was orange again and the washed with lots of water I found it better than using solvent to clean. I have tried rib revive and although it is amazing stuff G101 and TFR win hands down and is about half the cost.

After G101 I used the rib revive uv gel stuff which amazing it give a nice depth of colour which makes all the difference.

Come to thing of it It needs to be done again.

Autoglym car shampoo, cold water, chamois, tube polish for the tubes(!), quick few squirts of autoglym sheen spray around the transom/motor...jobs a goodun and looks spangly for the next outing.....takes 15mins!!!!!!

Regular Fresh water Rinse,T.F.R,when a good clean is needed (Well Diluted!) +3M's Rib Protector (as oftren as you like),and Armoural (Gloss Finish) for a quick once over, works for me!

Here in South Florida in the Sub-Tropics we have very intense sun. The most popular product used by RIB owners, Yacht Captains with RIBS and commercial yards is a product know as 303 protectant. It was developed by NASA, and as hard as it is to believe, it will stop 100% of UV fading if used on a regular basis. I use it every two months, just wipes on with no effort at all. Here is a US link to information on 303. It is available in the UK.

303® Aerospace Protectant 1 Gallon

Of course the optimal way to protect you RIB is to keep it covered at all times when it is not being used. I also always immediately do a wash down on the boat and a good dry. Nothing is ruin a boat faster that salt water left on the boat.
