Can anyone tell me what age, model & value this Avon is. What would be the best engine to put on it. I know a guy n he wants to sell it. Any help gratefully received .

Looks like an Avon Rover to me, two seats may be 3.1, I had 2.8 and I seem to remember it only had one.

The one the op has posted up looks like a 1990s Rover 3.1 (perhaps called a 310)
Is there a makers plate and/or a hull identification number?

Late '80s Avon Rover 3.1.
Looks a goodun. The yellow on the stake usually fades and the plywood floor gets weathered if they're left outside, so this one looks like it's been well looked after.
Great boats.

I've a Rover 2-80, and its from '86.

Check the Ali plate on inside of l/h tube if I remember correctly.
The last two digits are year of manufacture.

In the past I have seen 3.1s go for £300 in good condition, not sure what engine size it's rated for, my 2.8 was 8hp.

Ive a Rover 2.8.
The serial number is inside the bow on left. Last two numbers are the year if I remember correctly.
Mine's an '84, and has been looked after so still going well.
As above, the yellow strake loses colour.
