Avon decals and s400 spec plate
Hello,
New to what looks to be a very comprehensive forum. I have an Avon S400 in need of TLC. It's a good strong boat with plenty of years left in it but the name decals are tatty and quite crispy and the specification plate is missing from the transom. Does any one have an identity plate for the s400 or any Avon decals (which i can fix to the tubes) for sale? Perhaps if not someone could be kind enough to post a picture of the identity spec plate and I can have one made at a local sign company.

BHG marine may have an ID plate. I'm sure I saw one on their shelf the other week.

Hi, thanks for the fast replies!
I did try BHG (contacted through EBay) but they didn't have one. Must confess I missed the Ron Hale logos when searching the net, they look to be just what's needed to cheer up an old boat.
If anyone could help with a photo of the spec plate I'd be grateful.

You could use one of the BHG photos on ebay of a similar ID plate as a rough pattern. The S400 spec can be found in an old Avon brochure (in my library). Is it a RIB or SIB?

Just seen you're in Norwich. Fineways at Wroxham are an Avon dealer. Might be worth popping in there. Failing that, if you can get a photo of the plate, take it to Brian Ward in Brundall (they are in the old railway station building) - they'll make one up for you.
