What does one tell one's friends if they see one coming out of Aldi carrying, of all things' a 'special offer' item? I know that one can slip the products into a Waitrose bag before leaving but what if one forgets?

The "Aldi? Good lord no, I was actually leaving a s*x shop" or "I thought it was an Audi dealership" excuses do wear thin after a while.

A bit clichéd - sorry!

There was a story last year about a woman in the queue at Lidl who was heard to say on her mobile "Darling, I'll have to call you back - I'm in Waitrose".

I like Aldi everything from a pint of milk to a chainsaw all under one roof (the chocolate is particularly good)
