Alain Bombard 4.5 s.i.b. atlantic crossing

i know most of us s.i.b.ers are not likely to under take something like this but i have just been reading a brief story of french man prof Alian Bombard who went across the atlantic in a 4.5 meter zodiac inflatable in 1952 ,to test out his theory on drinking sea water to survival ,he did the voyage 4400 kmusing an outboard and a sail but was hospitalized for a while after dehydration ,he was then said to set up Bombard inflatable boats later took over by zodiac,anyone have any details on his boat .mart

He seems an interesting character. I read his obituary here...

His boat was called l'Hérétique, but it doesn't say which particular model it was. Apparantly zodiac sales rocketed after his journey. It doesn't say anything about him setting up bombard though, but it seems to make sense.
