Grey is the new Red

Don't know how you guys manage to hang on in those red ones - they must be sooo....fast!

To be honest I went for grey as it was considerably cheaper (and also on offer at the time) than the red, and like the fact the tube pressure is less affected by solar gain if/when the sun ever makes an appearance.

I'm more concerned my shiny new grey 380 isn't really a 380 anymore. Never realised before the cone overhangs were shorter.

I need a bigger boat!

They are all good. I was always sure I wanted a grey one and TBH would have been happy with either. The red does please my wife though as it shows up a bit better on the typically grey/green English Channel - she always panicked when we went out to sea in the old grey Zodiac and she waved us off the beach and gradually lost sight of us.

But he *did* ask Max so fingers in your ears for a moment...

The new purchase is actually an age thing as well I guess. Already early retired myself and working towards Mrs Fenlander taking early retirement or at least shorter hours next May when we both turn 60.

We've tidied up quite a few aspects of our life over the past 4yrs towards an easier day to day workload with less maintenance commitment so we can do more of what we want post 60. Buying a new SIB was always part of the masterplan... a fairly modest early joint 60th birthday treat for ourselves if you like.

Max has expressed puzzlement a bit via PM over this policy as I've broken the previously successful run of buying used outfits at great value which has served well in the past. But this time we wanted the specific boat and the specific colour without anyone else's mods or dirt that we had to refurb... and no travelling all over the country to view risking disappointment... then with other unwanted bits of an outfit to sell on.

So getting our exact choice delivered to the door in a box was what we wanted. We plan it for a 10yr ownership or perhaps more if we're lucky which made the expenditure of a new one a financially sound decision for us.

Yep perhaps the choice of grey was an age thing too... modest kind of guy really and red was a bit... well just too fast for me! I like to see others with red SIBs though... a red Futura is spectacular.

Fingers out of ears now Max... and I never mentioned glue!

Had a look at the new spec for the new aerotec, coming up with 10'4" and with a max hp of 15 horses? With not seeing one in the flesh cannot confirm the hp with out looking at the info plate on the transom.
Any chance you could look this up Fenlander?

Cheers Al.

I reckon length and hp not for the right model. Where have you seen that?

They're 3.65m now (as measured... still called a 380 model) due to the shorter cones... and 25hp on the transom plate.
