3.8 Tohatsu

I have just brought this 3.8 Tohatsu sib it has a 9.8 Tohatsu engine with a fitted Hydrofoil fin

I'm told its a SB125 model it as inflatable keel and aluminium floor its sitting on a 3 year old sbs r2/750b trailer thats like new.

I purchased it from a retired rally driver hence the car seats which i intend to take out and replace with some sort of plank seat any ideas where i can buy these from,
He did fit a custom steering wheel that was a trophy from the past as you can see from the picture but he took it out thank god

Looks a nice rig Tony. Any particular reason for wanting a seat? - they tend to get in the way and are never really in the right place for driving or weight shifting. Much better just sitting on the tube or kneeling etc.

Looks a gud'n Tony, I bet you could fit it on your roof rack as well if you didn't want to use the trailer.

I was thinking along the lines of fitting something like a cushion storage bag under it

Just found this,
INFLATABLE BOAT SEAT KIT, Europa Sport, ** NEW ** | eBay

I just use a large dry bag clipped to a lifeline up in the bow together with a large Pelicase, those seats 'look' useful but the SIB's a lot more flexible (in use I mean ) without them.

Yea more than likely could

I'm looking forward to see what sort of speed it will do, he said the 9.8 is a good little engine and should do around 18 to 20 knots we will see

Yep, that was a great topic willk started, should be a sticky really. Thought it had a pic of my Pelicase and kit but I've got it somewhere...

Agreed on the Tohatsu 9.8, no finer small SIB engine. Maybe a bit less than 20 kts though, say 16/17...
