2nd trip in our SIB

Well, all was going ok ish, although the kids, Jazz & Tyler got stuck in the sinking mud before we even got in the boat. It all went wrong as we returned, the tide was coming in really fast and we grounded out, so Pat being Pat Smith, jumped in to tow us safely to the launch slope. He was fully clothed and up to his waist in mud. We found this rather funny.. What a mistake that was, in the chaos that then followed, whilst trying to help get the boat out the water, I fell off the launch jetty and then Tyler face planted the mud while trying to retrieve the most important item off the boat (Jasmine's phone). We then attempted to look rather dignified as we strolled past the pub full of boaty peeps, wet and covered in mud.
On the up-side, as several boaty chaps passed us, they said, "don't worry, it's happened to us all".. I wonder if they witnessed the whole 'Carry-on-Boating' episode..

If I was you I would run for cover as your probably going to get a lot of abuse about lack of lifejackets.

As it happens we actually do have 2 in the locker, we use them for boarding, but they're there if we needed them in the worst situation.

I speak only for myself, but you won't be falling out with me - I respect a man's right to be wrong. There are 6 billion people on the planet and a few potentially lost to one man's overconfidence and lack of imagination causes me no concern. Just so long as it's not me or the people I care about, you understand..

Go you!

haha i am a strong swimmer too and take a look at who else is out there 8mph on a river i dont wear one
but on the sea or a bit of open water i wonder what would happen if a jet skier toppled you off a tube hitting your knappa on the way over, this puts everyones life in peril
i wear a bouyancy aid as i prefer it but make the family life vest up
