2 Stroke Restrictions?

Hello Guys and Girls,

Just a quick question.
Is any body aware of any restrictions regarding 2 Stroke outboards and inland waterways / lakes etc?

Thankyou in advance,

Harvey.

No restrictions on 2 stroke on most UK public waterways. However some places ban combustion engines all together (i.e. Bala lake is electric only )

As above none in UK differentiating between 2 and 4 stroke. I did read about some lakes in the US that don't allow 2 strokes.

Lake Tahoe in California is the only lake I know of that has banned 2 strokes. (Direct injection doesn't apply)

No idea where you have got this from.

We go up there every year and there has never been a 2 stroke ban, just checked with the marina and they havent heard of it either.

If its true it will have serious repercussions for the boating in that area, where did you get the information ?

I have a friend that has a house by the Loch, when I originally mentioned I was into boats & fancied a run on Loch Tay he said not to take the 2 stroke OB as they were banned, heard a few others say the same - but never bothered to check as I'm now all 4 stroke anyway!

Just checked with another couple of locals, your mate is talking rubbish.

2 strokes are not banned on Loch Tay. "Big sigh of relief smiley"
