2.6m air floor or slats

Looking for a 2.6m sib. I hear so much against the HP air floors and they are expensive to replace should they deteriorate. I only have a small car and have noted that some 2.6m sibs have slatted floors.
How do these compare to the air floors regarding ease of setting up and ride.
I have a 4hp Suzy 2stroke to use to tootle round the harbours and close to shore so speed is not an issue.
Thanks in anticipation

From what I have read here the air floors are well regarded - and I can't recall (m)any cases of people having issues with deterioration... ...is a dealer trying to sell you the boat he wants to sell you?

Hi Polwart
Nothing in the pipe-line as yet. Just a short-list question.
I have an Avon 3.4m with a 15hp but am looking for another slightly smaller for inland tootling and fancy the convenience of the air floor,
Do you recommend air floors?
Cheers

I became a SIB'ber recently and read loads of 'floor' topics before buying - not many I can recall who switched to an air floor went back - if you're not folding it up every use it's no big deal to have a non-air floor though. Main thing is to get the pressure into them - hard work with a manual pump but essential.

I've no practical experience with an air floor (all this blowing up boats is too much like hard work for me!) - but it seems they are popular with other posters here (provided you buy a bravo pump).
