Marcos sports cars had a wooden chassis. Old fashioned big dippers were all made of wood. Wood is actually very strong - look at a giant redwood tree.

Lol, yeah Marcos were very well "rooted" in the UK but i always thought their designers were "bark"-ing mad.

I certainly don't "pine" for them now that they are gone...

dont ribs have rubber tubes ? originally rubber came from that super strong liquid (sap) that comes out of trees . but i might be wrong

Wasn't one of mine chaps...Although funny enough, I have recently fitted a hardwood frame onto an old boat trailer so it could carry 8x4's!...Pure coincidence I can assure you!
