If you are right on the 1300kg limit at the moment, adding a second axle could well put you over.

If you look at the figures, there is not a big cost difference between purchasing 2 new axles and selling your current trailer and purchasing a new twin axle one.

Purchase of 2 braked axles, 4 wheels, mudguards, brackets, u blots and brake cables = approx £800 + VAT

Sale of your current trailer = approx £1000
New 1800kg GVW twin axle bunk = £1850 + VAT
New 1800kg GVW twin axle multi roller = £2110 + VAT
