Unreasonable Ebay questions....

This made me chuckle....

Saw Ebay ad for an unbraked boat trailer and sent query...

"Hello,

please could you confirm that the trailer is galvanised (and not painted silver....sorry not obvious from pics /on my screen) and also the maker and max carrying capacity. Finally, please could you advise what condition the bearings are in /when they were last changed.

Many thanks"

Got this response....

"considering all the information you require, suggest you would be better buying a new trailer."

I think you can take that to mean it's painted silver and on the original bearings!

Which means the seller is right, you would indeed be better buying a new trailer. Honest chap

My recent ebay sale of an apple crusher attracted this question:

"Hi there I live in Scotland and wondered how do you make fizy cider?any help much appreciated got apples but its my first time! love your crusher!! Thanks" (I think this was Bigmuz7, the numpty )

They write whole books that just about cover that subject.

Ebayer buyers - huh - it's like having kids - question questions!

And demanding! Wanting a perfect trailer as new for a few pence...

If it has no reserve and is going for a few pounds, he's probably just wanting to get shut of it for anything, so can't be arsed replying to some hawk eyed, detail wanting ribber!

If it was advertised on fibnet, he would have replied with a wonderfully vague response such as:

"To the best of my knowledge it is galvanised under the silver paint, we painted it to make it look smarter. I'm pretty sure it is a snipe trailer and would have thought it will take the weight of most boats. Condition wise it is excellent and I've serviced the bearings myself to an excellent standard recently"

I once got barred from someone's auction for asking if the mileage was correct on the pickup he was selling.

It said 700,000...

Surprisingly not!....and now on closer inspection (on my laptop) would appear to be Galv /tidy....and it has a reserve...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:RTQ:GB:1123

Would have thought maker, max weight and bearings were normal /reasonable q's

Reason for looking....

While we are on the subject, I'm looking for a trailer for the D Class if anyone has anything suitable?

Ask when the shoes were last changed, what compound, if carbon or not and how worn!

not seen him post for long time. Well not as his name anyway.

Must be busy building his "shoot!" business. Laird Garton.

Wish I seen this earlier I could have asked if the plastic dog was included, I wonder if it nods.
