Trailer question ?

I'm hoping to go and look at a second hand "Indespension Rollercoaster 6" this week.
Problem is, it's a single axle and according to Indespension's literature it should be twin axle. Anyone know if they built this as a "single axle" or is this going to be a different model to what's being advertised?

Appear to be a few ads showing what are claimed to be Roller Coaster 6 trailers with single axles.

I think roller coasters are single axles, super roller coasters twin axles.

I don't understand the issue - if it's plated for the capacity you need and you are on with a single axle the name is irrelevant?

But it would be a problem if it was a double axle and the seller had simply removed an axle......

Went to see them (he had two) Clearly plated at 1300KG GVW???
Waste of time and diesel.

The spec he had quoted was for a "Super Coaster 6" which is the 4 wheel version.

Didn't you ask if it was twin axle before traveling?
There's no problem with a trailer plated to 1300kg with a single axle
seems like the only issue is a bit of confusion over the name
It seems obvious if you want the twin axle version that you'd ask if it was the twin before traveling

I didn't want a twin axle so I phoned and asked if the trailers were plated and if the weight his advert quoted was right. I was assured that they were plated and rated to 2000KG and had been getting used to transport 6.7mtr boats for the RLNI. (They possibly had been, that would explain why the draw bar was bent on one of them)
I'd seen single axle Indespension Coaster 6 trailers quoted at both 1300kg and 1500kg and I could have lived with a 1500kg option.
There is a point where you have to take the vendor "at his word" and his assurances were the reason I made the trip.

Ah ok makes more sense the seller telling porkies
but to be rated to 2 tonnes it would need to be twin axle I think the biggest uk axle is 1800kg gross so up to 1800kg you have the choice of single or double but over that it has to be double

Extreme make a 1900kg single axle fyi......I have the SBS 1800el single axle under my 6.8 which is the next one down.

Pressure's off for a bit. Managed to get access to some plasma cutting gear and a MIG so the trailer is well on it's way to being repaired/upgraded.
The running gear is all sound (only one year old) so it should do a turn and I'll just keep my eyes open for a bargain.
