Trailer options

I am looking at a 6m+ diesel rib for leisure use which will spend 6+months of the year being used off a mooring. For the rest of the year it will be stored in a garage 200yards from a slipway. I am struggling with the £2.5k I am being quoted for a road trailer that will be used twice a year and spend the rest of the time corroding !

Are there trolly type trailers - preferably single axle for manouvrebility - which anybody can recommend that would be a more cost effective alternative.

Thanks

Welcome to Ribnet, two thoughts; if you are only doing 200 yards twice a year then one of the american bunk trailers would be a much cheaper option. Some are illegal on uk roads as they tend to be too wide, have hydraulic brakes and 2" tow ball, but for a 200 yard journey......

Something like this ?

Also on boats and Outboards JBT are selling this:

Riva who posts on here works at JBT so you should be able to negociate a substantial discount mentioning Ribnet

I'd borrow one twice a year from another friendly RIBster...For a 6 m RIB you will have no problem getting a loan of one for a day...

Then,.......have a look at the thread further down the page on "Launching On Dry Land" to see how to store your RIB on the hard sans trailer!

Only new to RIB.Net and you've already saved £2.5K on your first day !!

Best wishes,

Stuart
