IF ...& ...MIGHT (just missing the "maybe")....oft said to be the last refuge of those ...without a valid point to make

I have Towed the length and breadth of this Great Island...for many years..Transporters Plant..and Boats
Legal & Safe has always been my priority!....but hey,if you want to stress and analise and Navel gaze about (IF or MIGHT) your number plate is 2" the "wrong" side ...that's You're choice.
My point ...Its Just bloody Boring

Nicely found sir, that isn't where I seen it though but the RYA probably got it from where I did, which was probably the DVLA site as I've been looking at the regs when making these bloody waterproof lights.

And thereís the rub, whilst ever youíre on your home turf youíre relatively safe. Itís not until you venture out of your comfort zone, & head south of Dover, that you realise how easy we have it here. We are without doubt one of, if not the, least regulated countrie(s) in Europe when it comes to boats & trailers. Foreign plod needs little excuse to extract some weekend beer money out of naive tourists.

Yet Another good reason to stay in the UK then Dave!....and to extricate ourselves from VERY likely future over regulation! ..
I hear what you're saying but A safe trailer in the UK is still Safe Trailer on the Continent IMO.....even if you do have to modify things?? to placate the foreign powers that be...and conform to their regs. After all Is it really so different..

....Having said that I think the Euro police would spend their time much more productively by scrutinising some of their HGV "Sheds" I've seen over here!

Being an Island Race we seem to have a different attitude to the Sea than our European friends...and the ancient freedoms to persue the many pursuits we ALL cherish.....long may it continue!

When I go to (Coastal) France again...I certainly won't be going via Dover......It will be in my RIB via the South Coast ....as before

No pain no gain.
I donít mind it tbh, but then Iím geared up for it. Itís not until you venture abroad that you realise how easy we have it here. People who are always calling for ďcompulsory thisĒ & ďobligatory thatĒ should be careful what they wish for. Maybe the ease of boating & lack of regulation accounts for our thriving RIB scene.
Anyway, weíre wandering waaay off topic.
