I carry a spare set of bearings and obviously the spare wheel and tools to either fix anything or remove the brakes if they F*** up.

Be prepared. :-)

2 mins to change a wheel. done this a few times on the side of motorways.
20 mins to change the bearings tops.
2 mins to disconnect the breaks.

Definitely don't go with the RAC. I called them out a few years ago and the first thing they did was put a tape measure onto my trailer. As it was over 21ft, they refused point blank to tow it.

I have been with the AA since in the UK and Europe and found them fantastic. I had a major failure on the trailer I was towing in Germany earlier this year. They recovered the trailer and repatriated it to the UK for me.
