Trailer bearing manufacurers

Ok, last job on my winter 'to do' list........
Changed the bearings on my trailer 2 years ago, and they are performing perfectly , however I intend to strip down all 4 hubs and have a clean / check, (and I have to replace brake shoes on one axle too)

Would you replace the bearings as a matter of course? or inspect and assess condition?
and most importantly.... do you think the manufacturer of the bearings (and therefore their cost) makes much / any difference to the life of the bearings, for a trailer that is very regularly dunked in the salty sea?

I'd be grateful for your experiences / thoughts,

Thanks

Depending on which bearings they are, cost/quality can make a difference. Mine are the Al-ko waterproof type which are about £30 a set for genuine Al-Ko ones. I bought some el cheapo pattern ones locally & they didn't last a season. The current genuine ones are on their 4th season. I might change them this year just to be safe. The price difference between "proper" & "cheap" ain't worth the hassle.
