Pretty pointless test and outcome, everyone knows they are the dogs for towing but it is not a good compromise for people who don't tow constantly.

The award should be the most unimaginative tow vehicle 2015.... I'd still love one but working mileage dictates otherwise.

Surprised to see the Audi B5 oil-burner (1999-2001) hasn't made the cut, again.

The current 8sp auto Disco 4 is a magnificent towing tool.

How about those that require offroad capability, aswell as towing ability? Neither are compromised.

people who offroad and need to tow won't go looking at a fiat will they.................

the caravan club have always been different (until now anyway) in that they looked for a compromise car...car being the operative word there.

But if you can afford to pay about £50,000 for a Discovery, and then another car for when it is broken, you surely don't need to spend your holidays sleeping in a 5ft bed in a tin box with no heating?

Slight generalisation, so tin hat on

Keep that tin hat handy, it might come in useful........again😄

Camping at Whitby this weekend in a little 2 man tent. Minus 3 last night. The Disco & boat will be parked alongside the tent. I could have bought a nice holiday cottage with what I've blown on boats & Landrovers over the years😳

.....sh1t happens.......

Dave, Once you are back I'd be interested to know what campsite you used and if it worked OK taking the boat with you. This is something we've been thinking about doing for a while to get a couple of days out on the boat at Whitby, combined with a weekend camping.

This is the campsite we use Used it before, pretty basic but laid back. No issue with boats etc. Café on site for sandwiches, breakfasts etc. We use the showers in the marina, so not sure what the campsite ones are like. Loos are ok. Good pub just along the road. 1/2 hour walk into Whitby centre. If you are there for a weekend & intend using the boat both days, it works out cheaper to leave it in the marina overnight.
