Well, after waving Clamchowder off today, I went to have a look at a Nissan Pathfinder. Not wearing it's miles well internally; a lot of wear around the dash and trim, and the passenger side window wouldn't close from the driver's side switch. I suppose it's possible that the 54k they were claiming wasn't genuine but if felt like a much older car.
I sat in a couple of poverty spec Disco 3s which were wearing it a bit better, albeit they were a bit more expensive. Dunno what the feeling is amongst the LR cognoscenti on here is, but the internet is full of grumbles about reliability etc. Timing belt needing changed at 7 years of 100k and costing loads.Bushes needing changed all the time.... But then the previous generation of discos don't seem to fair any better, which puts me off.
The Shogun i looked at were all pretty tired looking too except a short wheelbase one which is too small really for our needs.
Dunno what else to try... Taureg
