Does the trailer HAVE to be street legal..

If you are towing with an agricultural tractor I suspect the law on brakes and suspension is different.

For 5 tonnes an axle off a scrapped semi trailer will do the trick..

It looks like we are going to go with one from RM, they have given a very good quote and lead time for one.

Agree with this. He totally adjusted our standard riba trailer in order to have a perfected balanced one. They really know their job!

They can make any type of trailer on request up to 10T.

Those trailers look awesome - are they legal for towing behind a Land Rover?

And what happens if they get dunked in sea water - looks a lot to go wrong!!!

Bet they not cheap either............

I really like the look of this - all the weight taken by the keel as it should be and the side rollers just for support.

There are not a lot of jeeps/cars that can and are allowed to tow more than 3,5 tonnes. Mostly you will use a kind of mini truck like this one

Mostly people with a rib bigger than 10m and weighing more than 3 tonnes do no longer use the slipway but a crane to put it in the water. Therefore, no longer the sea water problem.

Or, did you mean RUBBA?

(Ribnet Users Big Boating Association)

RUBBA has, until now, been a secret society of inner sanctum members.

Those members who dare to ride the bigger swell, slice the mightier chop and scuff the closest of sand banks.

Edit: Entry is restricted to those members who have been towed to safety no less than 5 times in the last 90 days.
