We are getting them fitted at Tachograph Systems - Manchester | Tachograph Services and they are the VOSA approved digital Tacho's (Siemens I think).

The police and VOSA seem to be getting very hot on this. A friend of mine was pulled into the check site on the A31 near Ringwood recently pulling his boat behind a Discovery. They impounded the trailer, until he could find someone with a tachograph equipped vehicle to collect and complete the journey. I managed to get up there and help him out pretty quickly, but it was still very disruptive for his business.

That spot is a particular favourite as there is a weighbridge and loads of traffic from Poole port , covers people travelling West from Southampton over the Forest towards Bournmouth and Poole also.

I would suggest anyone taking their boats down for work at Weymouth Olympics to be prepared for VOSA checks. As you say they are very active, I regularly see teams with police on M27 service areas close to M3 junction. As you say they appear to be targetting us

My girlfriends father got pulled here too recently - he had a load of wood in the back of a V70. They weighed the car and due to the distribution of the wood the rear axle was over. Got a nice fine from them.
