If he hasn't sorted a suitable vehicle yet, try Driver & Transport Management Training | WTTL

Also in Devizes, good guys but tend to be expensive.

As a separate thought....... Luckily as I am old enough and passed my driving test in 1992 I don’t have to do the whole towing test thing, but I have a daughter about to drive age 17 .Can she tow before she passes her towing test if I am sat next to her as a full licence holder ( with towing stuff licence & properly insured etc )

Cats Eyes. They have offices around the country I think but Particularly in Bournemouth, Plymouth and Cardiff. That being said I'm not sure how many of them do the trailer B+E. Plymouth does. Ask for Tracy!

Here's the website and prices

I think the law says no. If you were "given" your towing rights free by passing your standard driving test you cannot teach somebody else on a provisional. I guess they feel your not "qualified" to do so. Just legal to tow.

If you fancy becoming "qualified" here is a site with pricing http://www.catseyesdrivingschool.co.uk/tow.htm

Pete, As I understand it, she can not tow anything (even unbraked ickle trailers) until she passes her ordinary car license, even if you are sitting next to her. At that point she will then be allowed to tow a "small" trailer on her own.

Having passed her test then an instructor or other competent person like yourself can supervise her towing a "heavy" trailer. The trailer and car will need to be properly L plated up and I presume there is no motorway driving.

mmm... pete might be best to get dvla to clarify in writing. Certainly what Peter describes is true for small lorries etc: Rules for supervising small lorry and minibus learner drivers : Directgov - Motoring

But then again this says differently!

You can supervise for towing when she has a full B licence (passes DSA car test)
The new supervising laws in April 2010 did not affect B+E

She will get a B+E provisional listed on the paper part of the licence when she has a full B licence

L plates on front of vehicle and back of trailer

Correct LEARNER insurance

That site does not say diferent - it states C and D categories only

It used to say different many months ago but they changed it after a certain person called ROG contacted them
