Motor & Trailer insurance warning

In this months PBO (Oct 09 ) there is a brief insurance article warning that some motor insurance companies are NOT covering trailers over 7 Metres in length and some will cover any length but NOT Twin axle trailers !!!! So may be worth checking your policy documents or even directly with them to check if you are covered. Does not effect me with my 5 X 3 camping trailer and SIB but only you great big RIBBERS

Any boat trailer should be picked up on the main boats policy for theft & accidental damage etc - as long as you have remembered to add it !

Not sure that's the issue-more that you'll have no 3rd party cover to pay for damage you do with it while towing.

Nos is right this is not the issue, with insurance companies looking to get out of any claim you may not even be covered on your boat insurance as you could be towing illegally. The issue is the motor policy
