Mondeo Estate tow car - anyone got pics / real life info?

I am going to be changing the car week after next to a Mondeo Estate. I can shift the electrics across (Westfalia '07-14, and yes, I know I'll need to pay a dealer through the nose for switching on the tow stuff in the car's Can bus), However I am now faced with an interesting quandary: whose metalwork to hold the ball up?

They are all EEC approved so No issues there, however I have been Googling about and can't seem to get any decent pics of where the 'leccy socket goes.

So, could I ask people with Either Brink, Witter, Westfalia or Bosal Metalwork to post a pic showing where the socket sits relative to the bumper? (PF Jones have a sale on at the mo!)

on half of them it seems to hang off the bottom of the Swan neck, which to my simple mind puts it in a vulnerable position. One of them (the Westfalia) the mount bracket seems to put it almost up under the bumper, and above the big lump of metal to hold the trailer up. For that reason I am currently swaying towards that one in the swan neck arena.....

Anyone with a flange mount (any make) and the park sensors at the top of the bumper rather than in the black "trim" along the bottom, does the socket get picked up by the reverse sensors when you don't have a trailer on? They seem to be way higher than my current Mondeo hatch where they are along the bottom of the bumper and right in line with the socket. Main reason I'm thinking of going Swan this time to get the socket out the way of the radar..... but I do prefer a flange mount as I could potentially swap it for a pin coupling if I ever needed to....

So, lots of words for a simple Q -

Any pics or descriptions would be much appreciated, as I'll need to get this hitch on ASAP as it's only going to be 6 weeks to Easdale by the time I pick the car up..... and I still need to take the boat for a test run first!

many thanks

I've got a mk3 mondeo st with a witter tow at fitted by dolphin trailers in Poole (£180)

Swanneck type where the electrics are mounted on a bracket off one of the towbar bolts.

HAve to say it does get a beating when I pull of the drive but hasn't broken.

I'll try post a photo tomorrow for you

Not great photos but you get the idea.
Also this towbar doesn't interfere with the parking sensors

Luke, that's the sort of pic I was looking for! (and illustrates my concern nicely! )

It's the Westfalia hanging from the cross beam I'd be really interested to see....

Xk59D,
I normally sway towards the solid variety, but how much are you looking for it?
