No i haven't. Forgotten where I bought the last LED ones from. I gave all the receipts to the new owner as I sold the boat and trailer not long after I fitted the LED marker lights!

Liking the idea of the amber flashing light... very Starsky and Hutch!

Passed a huge Leibherr 16 wheeler crane tonight and he was doing 60mph. Spotted him from miles back with amber LED light bars.

Well, perhaps not when you mount it on an extension bar outward from the starboard mudguard...

It did keep 'em wide though

Item 7(ii) in this link (The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989) states that you can have amber flashing light on any vehicle for the following purpose "when it is necessary or desirable to warn persons of the presence of the vehicle". This applies to the UK not sure about Ireland.

I just use simple and cheap bicycle led lights. Most of the mounts are plastic and I remove the led Light from the mount in seconds when not needed.

Bolt on bits do smart little waterproof led lights with reflectors. I fitted them onto the mudguards of the trailer to let people see the edge. Had a few close shaves on the A82 over the years.

I saw one of those last week in my local car spares shop and it looks like a handy bit of kit. How reliable is the magnetic fixing though?

I only tow my boat about twice a year, and in last three years its nearly happened to me twice and that was in daylight, rather scary, some people just dont look properly, best bet is simply dont overtake just stay in slow lane, that way less stress on you driving.

Agree Boris, but the majority near misses for me are where motorways fork and you have no choice but to cross lanes. People leave it to late or do not read the signs early enough and panic

I have no reported issues with these, been selling these for 3/4 years - although I tell people if in doubt out put safety lanyard in them!

The set of 6 are used for marking roads , run ways etc.

I will ask the question explicitly to my wind farm user who uses them on his towing of the parts. He just bough more this week.

but they go on roof with a positive , re-assuring "thump" although the magnetic is not in contact of metal.

No one will see them as there is a boat in the way (hopefully) If you have fog lights on the towing board take the bulbs out!
