Confirmed .. I bought mine for a couple of troublesome plant trailers which vibrate the bulbs to buggery, but I'd like to have them on the boat trailer too, but I tested them on a board and the BMW X5 wont have them at all, infact nothing at all! just a gibbering left flasher, the plant trailers work fine though, the commercial punters still seem ok

Whats the fix for the X5 PD ? Just something I can get from RS as you say ?

Got mine yesterday.

Tried them on the board - and plugged in - no joy

Only two indicator leds on each side light up the other three dont. Looking carefully it seems that there is something over the leds?

Side lights and brake lights dont work at all! I've checked and re-checked the wiring.
Gonna get in touch with company tomorrow.

This is on a Mitzi Shogun.

There's no mention in the adverts of any special wiring !!! Is it just certain cars as I thought 12 volts was the industry norm ?
I'm now waiting before I buy some so that you guys find out the issue !

Are the CE marked? I'm sure a grumpy inspector will find something!

I'd expect most old school cars will be fine - its just a voltage thing, but fancy modern cars with bulb fail detection circuits and all that malarky might be a bit confused by not having any real current draw.

Checked thoroughly! If it was an earth prob the indicator bulbs that do work correctly wouldn't! (There are 5 indicator leds in each set - only two of mine work in each)

IIRC I used these in parallel with the indicators. You will need a heatsink to fix them to. My light clusters have a reflector between the indicator & brake/sidelight cluster. The reflector section has a void in the rear, I cut a piece of ally to fit in the void & bolted the resistor to it. Works fine so far after a couple of seasons.

Can do thanks for that .. sounds a canny solution does the rest of the system go to normal function when that's put in on just the indictors though ? . Kinda voids the water resitant appeal for boat use

Works fine on the Disco4, I can't comment on the Beemer, good luck I "potted" the resistor in Silicone to keep the weather out.

Looks like I dropped a b0110ck with the link I posted for the resistor, It should be a 6.8 Ohm NOT 6.8 K Ohm as in my link, it should be this one
Sorry for any confusion & thanks to Bern for pointing it out. My bad

I've had LEDs on trailers for a few years.

Upshot is the cheap ones don't last long and waterproof means different things to different people.

Best so far as these...100BSTIM Stop Tail and Indicator Black Frame 12 or 24 Volt [100BSTIM] - £29.30 : LED Lights, Marker Truck LED Vehicle Lighting Trailers Commercial Lightbars Warning Lights Land Rover

But where the plastic lens joins in the middle I run some epoxy down the join as this is where they leak.

Just got a pair of the £20 set off fleabay ! To be fair they looked quite good when I hooked them up to the battery for a test!
I'm not planning on dunking them so hopefully they'll last a while. Sick of changing bulbs in trailerboards so hopefully these will last a year or two.

Tony , tried mine today on a 2004 Mitzi Shogun 3.2 DID and they worked absolutely fine ( with no additional resistors )

Did mine today & they worked fine on the Defender & the Merc ML so more than happy ! £20 pair off ebay, the only downside is no fog light & £10 for an led version but as they're fitted to a removable transom saver/ light unit they shouldn't get in the salty stuff.
Tested them before I fitted them on a bare battery & no issues !
