LED light board lights

I have just found one of the light clusters on the trailer goosed and the connections on the stop and tail have disintegrated to nothing, so needs replacing are there any led sealed clusters that replace he standard types obviously wire them in then seal them type. Rather than prewired

I don't mind the odd replacement cluster but running out of decent copper.....

Oddly the trailer board tester said all good it wasn't till I put it on the car I noticed the fault......

Happier spending £3 than 40 on the basis I'll probably run over, lose or otherwise destroy it at some point soon....

I followed an eBay link by someone on here and got theses for something stupid like £14.99.


They are so much better than the cheap bulb units indespension fitter

In the thread they came from it seemed a few people had issues with them working without some resistors fitted

No issue for me - plugged them in to the Land Rover and they worked first time...

I spoke with the owner, who was very keen to talk about them in detail. These have a 3yr warranty. He has sold thousands & the only ones he's had back have all got black rotten copper wiring with the damp creeping into the unit. With adhesive lined heatshrink I think these will last decades. I double heatshrink them.
I bought some early ones (different model) which have remained waterproof, but the LEDs failed due to poor design. He wasn't suprised & explained he had seen problems with the early ones & had detailed discussion to get a better model from the supplier.

I have no affiliation, but the conversation I had was impressive enough for me to support them.

edit: He also didn't point me towards the pricier stuff

The problem with these is a lot of modern cars will spit the dummy out and you have a disco when you plug them in. Anyone with a Volvo got led lights working okay I'll take a look.

Mines is working just fine but there's a couple of resistors across the indicators to stop all the trailer lights flickering.

Trailer light fuses in the boot 29 & 30 ?

Keeps blowing the reverse light fuse, will be a bulb loose no doubt in light board, what it normally is. 3 or 4x it has done it now.

Link me up with what to get that works with the xc90.

For a submersible unit I think it's reasonable. Some of them are way more than that. I could go through the pain of putting another cheap set in but it's false economy. I love not having to remove a light board.

I'm not thinking they are total immersion waterproof but i really bought them for the lack of reliance on filament bulbs...
