Sorry to be so short as i didnt think i would be able to post the picture ,but then got a shock when i pulled it off ,,so a little more explanation
i bought the lights in the indespension clearance on ebay £14 inc carriage ,they claimed not waterproof so thought i would take a chance ,i put them in the bucket of water with a brick on top monday 21st may 6 ish ,they have been in the bucket ever since ,still working off a 12v alarm battery , which i have topped up some afternoons ,but the lights have been dunked all the time approx 118hrs ,not bad i thought worth sharing

Keeping them dunked in fresh isn't usually a problem, continuous drying and dunking in salt is what gets most lights.

I nearly packed up after 3 trips down the A12. The surface is so bad it could shatter rubber.

just the first bit surely?...once you reach Dedham all pain is forgotten...

There is a business opportunity here, i'm sure. A well sorted LED Based lightboard in lengths up to 7 feet.

I currently have two ex indespension ones in pieces trying to make just one that works. Having trawled this forum i'm now worried my new LED units purchased off ebay last night will have issues with my land rover bulb testing system (or the other way round)

this feels like a trailer newbie right of passage...

i wouldn't mind paying up for something that actually works for more than a year. To be fair it sat in Hamble from Feb to May on the trailer in the yard - but the board (purchased last year with the Roller Coaster 10) has never been in the brine.

Meanwhile the Thule family bike rack has been on and off the LR, left in weeds for weeks at a time, never looked after, occasionally power washed, blasted by winter road salt etc for 4 or 5 years and the LED set up on that hasn't missed a beat. Haven't even had to waggle the plug.

but...relatively...that rack wasn't cheap..

I think i'll put the bulb based units back on, carry some spare bulbs and stop worrying about the back end of the trailer bouncing all the way to Mallaig..
