Indespension

Hey folks,

Got a roller coaster 3 trailer, and the breaking system is shot on it.... Do i have to buy the parts from indespension, or is there a cheaper alternative? They seem overpriced on everything they sell, and im sure there must be a more economically efficient way!?

cheers,

Si

Hi I have a Roller Coaster and opted for a new axle as it was 20 years old and needed new everything.

It worked out cheeper in the end.

( single axle )

hey mate, what was the approx cost of that? The trailer has only been used a handful of times, but has been fairly abused and not flushed out very well, and was left to stew in a barn for years!

what exactly do you need?

if it is only brakes/bearings there are lots of places that sell these.

i recently done my rollercoaster trailer with new brakes, cables etc and was about 60 quid.

edit-i got my stuff below links-guy was really helpful on phone.

basically you need to measure the ID of the drum on your trailer and the width of the brake shoe to find out which type you need. "usually" there are 2 types of brake systems, knott and alko. for the cables you will need to get the old one off to see what the ends look like and buy accordingly. some of the ends come off (detach and non detatch are how they are classed) so just be sure you get right ones and also the right length. the cables are measured on the length of the outer part FYI.

my gear was -

cheers

Hi It cost about £350 but i did need new suspension as the rubbers were rotting and didnt want tot take a cahnce of them failing on the motorway.

also there is a place in newton abbot ( i think ) that I have used to get parts on the way to the south coast.

They were very cheap especially for breaks.
Indi wated about £100 for a set for my RC2.
