Thats me in the doghouse when Wavelength reports me
seems like the best opportunity for blackmail I have ever come across. Reckon I can name my price for keeping quiet. Or should I just tell Jean and see how long it takes to get back to Kath eh?

I'll move out onto the boat now, it's above freezing (just) at the moment, and the cover doesn't let too much water in.

Keith-I could also add to the blackmail threat the feature of your big windscreen that you said was its only downside

I've started!

Thought I'd better have a look at mounting one of these at the weekend.

Took the front bumper off to see what I'd got underneath and am glad to report that I have two rather sturdy bumper brackets that I've cut a 40x60mm hole in each to accommodate a piece of box section just under 1m in length. Tonight I cleaned all the rust off the box section and remounted the brackets and steel "inner bumper" so that I get a reference to the chassis members. This means that I can now weld the box section to the brackets without the need for it to be on the car. To this box section I will mount two 150mm legs that will protrude forward and will carry a length of angle bracket to which a tow ball and A frame will be mounted.

I'll take some photo's later this week to let anyone that's interested see how I'm getting on.

Did a little painting when I got home from work at lunchtime today. Thought I'd show my handiwork before the plastic bits went back on as most of it will be hidden. I'll fit the plastic bumper outer this evening and fix the tow bar and A frame to the bumper and mount it on the car tomorrow morning.

Well I put it all back together this morning and it all looks pretty sturdy. The only disappointing bit is that the bull bar is a little sticky out and that I'd have to project the tow ball further forward to clear the cross member on the A frame (see picture). It also means that I have to remount the number plate some where too.

So I'm contemplating modding the A frame or doing away with it completely and just having the tow ball sticking out which might mean I have to manufacture a tubular guard to stop people from walking into the tow ball when they're walking between cars.

What do you guys think?
