I thought my boat had a lot of dials.

The customs over our side of the pond have a similar system for launching their ribs, during high speed chases of drug runners

If you have a look at the Smitt patrol boats along the south coast that have something similar. There is normally atleast one in the yacht haven next to Mt Matten in plymouth, ribs look like 5m humbers.
I think Stuart (Rogue Wave) got a closer look when they were new. Also one of them was in the film of the scylla going down.
Or there's always single point davit launch and recovery.
