RHS - Hot finished rectangular hollow section.
CHS - Hot finished circular hollow section.
SHS - Hot finished square hollow section.
SHS is also known as Structural Hollow Section and can be HSS........mun

I believe here it is for the immediate comprehension and avoidance of all doubt rather that correct geometrical definition.
You are however correct........a square is a rectangle.

Are you wanting to bolt a normal tow hitch on , you could drill and tap the eye hitch and slide some H S over it and bolt it through

Yes and I might have to do that yet as someone has welded the bolts inside the box section

Don't see y not I made a trailer years back for general use just bolted the hitch to some HS the only problem was that I had the half round bit were the draw tube sits so I packed it out with some half round hand rail and its still going.
