I did see a Russian can of sardines that had the warning "May contain fish". Raises the question of what's in there if it doesn't contain fish...

That's a querk of GMDSS where commercial vessels are required to have both IMO approved (wheel marked) DSC fixed set(s) and (yellow) gmdss approved wheel marked hand helds.

Someone from big ships might come along and tell us at what size these requirements come into force as a coded rib doesn't need this kit and a class D DSC set is adequate.
