When your turbo fails and it costs 2k to lift the body off just to access the area you might not be using , more like FYI that's one of many parts on the D3 or 4 that requires the above procedure. There awesome motors ( yes I've ran one a few years ago - 2009 HSE ) but out of warrenty they can bite

Top tip to all Disco and Range Rover owners change your transmission oil around 70 K makes a big difference

3.0 SD V6, it's rated to tow 3,500 kg, same as the disco

Disco 4 versus Range Sport

3.0TDV6 in the facelift is as quick but better economy as the 3.6TDV8 (we have one) presumably less torque.

I've been told a lot of the electrical gremlins were resolved in the D4/RRS facelift. Anyone know if that's true?

I'm a big fan of Discos, but having owned an X5 and a Disco, I'd never dismiss the X5. If you don't go off road, other than backing down a slip, and you don't need 7 seats, the X5 is a better tarmac based tug than a Disco IMHO. Not had much to do with RRS, but basically the same underneath.

My F-in-Law is on his 3rd Disco, they are now superb to drive, but still prone to the odd issue. The latest one barfed it's power steering fluid over his drive recently.

I've previously had 4 BMs back to back, an air suspension bag going pop is the only failure that I can recall.

At 2011 the warranty is now become a piece of paper for recycling, so the occasional LR fault could really hurt in the wallet dept.
My X5 has 7 seats
