Jackwabbit? If you do manage to speak to someone technical at Bramber, ask them how often the bearings can be changed in the ALKO axles before you have to buy a WHOLE drum assembly and what price that assembly is. I was told that you are only supposed to press them in twice before significant distortion to the drum assembly causes problems. I'm not convinced, but it would be nice to hear from the "horse's mouth" so to speak.. so if you wouldn't mind finding out for me? Cheers, Jono

I know a chap with one which he uses for his 8.5m Ocean Diesel. Fantastic bit of kit with DISC brakes rather than nasty old drums! He bought from Riba direct & don't think language was a problem.

You might also like to tell them that you have been discussing them publicly here so that they have the opportunity to reply to your points themselves.

At long last, a valid reason for the existence of Belgium! Never really seen the point of it until now, although I am on occasions partial to one or three of their chocolates

will do Jono, thats assuming anyone gets back in touch, they have my mobile phone number but no one's rang yet!
Oh by the way our Snipe trailer on one of our other boats hasn't had any of these problems & thats now comming up to 8 years old, and still on the same barings (they have been stripped down & re-packed with grease at least once each year along with the brakes cleaned & adjusted at the same time)

No reply back yet from Bramber so I have just e-mailed them again, only this time I have added the link to this page to let them know we are all awaiting to see the outcome. But itís beginning to look as if we may have to go to Snipe as soon as we can afford it.

Your Lordship Belgium is also very good for cheap cars as they dont have there own car market, they import and export vehicles from across Europe and sell them below market value apparently.
