I have 16" rims on my trailer now with 235/70R16 on and the need for more water is the only downside. Rides much better than 13" on rough roads, which is all of them around here. My solution was to specify 5x6.5" PCD with M16 studs and then you can use any Land Rover rims, so I could easily go to say 33x12.50R15 tyres to spread the weight on soft ground, though I'd need even more water

Also, as TG will confirm, getting spares for these is difficult...

My trailer runs on 16" rims as well. I use 235/85/16 bf goodrich mud terrain tyres. It does mean going deeper to launch but the plus side is it goes anywhere the defender does. It tows on the road without any problems plus no more speed bump issues!
