Drop the boat off trailer and just pick it up and put the axle on some wood blocks you can block under the front as well much easier..... Or use axle stands......... (good idea to strap it down if your going to hit it with a hammer...)

Done and dusted!

I bought the boat knowing the brakes needed fitting. He assured me that all it needed was the pads and cables and I managed to change the price to suit this.

However....Took the drums off to find this mess!!

Saying my final good byes to my money...

The axle was serviced only a few months before as well! Paper work to prove it. Would never trust the mechanic if he left these alone

Nope, the suspension and hubs are all built into the axle so looks like it'll be a new axle!

Best way to jack up a trailer?

You know what they say about a boat?

It stands for Bang Out Another Thousand!

I bet that was a joy to behold when you uncovered it. Archaeologists dig iron age weapons out of fields in better condition than that...

The guy said it was just under the limit...but he also said the back plates were fine to use again!

It's this boat so I'm guessing it'll be over the limit. Hoping to sell it this summer so will see what happens Click image for larger version
