If it is over 750 kg , can the brake shoe expanders be replaced ?, treat backplates with rust killer and paint well with zinc paint to protect , much cheaper option if you plan to sell it on soon .

Just a thought as those old fletchers do not make much money these days and you may struggle to see your money back on a new axle. My brother in law has been trying to sell his fletcher since last summer and has had little interest in it, its all up together and the price was not expensive IMHO.
