Other than a PRV there are no moving parts, not sure how effective they will be, but they are made by Bradley which is normaly good stuff.

Time will tell I guess
I bought the same not fitted yet I was buying cheap bearings and replacing every year needed or not I went to more expensive ones and up to now second season still ok better back seals on these so next time it's new hubs decent bearings with buddies should help

They look a little different in that you can't see whether they need grease. As mentioned every boat trailer has them here where we often clock thousands of km each year, my last two tows last week were both 4 hrs south.

Letting any bearing cool before water entry is very important, this isn't just boat trailers, we let our 4x4 cool down for at least 10 mins before river crossing too.

I don't think the distance they're towed makes much difference, if anything a lack of use lets the water and grease separate out and they rust worse.
If the trailer was never put in the water they'd probably do 50,000+mls.
IMO the number of times they're dunked is the "life limiting factor".

there's a pressure relief valve in them if full you wont get anymore in it just comes out the valve

I would say if they are too hot to touch after a long ride, you should investigate further. I'd start with repacking with new grease.

I’ve just done a 1500 mile drag down to the Algarve, my bearings never got more than ambient
