Snipe Trailers, Watling Street, Cannock, Staffs. Quote the trailer type number.

Sorry, don't have the phone number handy.

Failing that, Carfax Bearings, Birmingham New Road, Wolverhampton. If you've got the bearing number,usually stamped in to the outer race, they keep a massive stock at trade prices.

Self greasing bearings

When you are at it have you tried the self greasing caps...I find them briliant...often feferred to as bearing savers.

Try these chaps;

Bingham trailers

It sounds similar to an Avonride hub, Avonride I think specify NTS bearings, however, SKF do a more widely available and cheaper bearing. I have routinely had excellent service from Bingham and good prices. They are trade suppliers and dont do much retail.

Trailer is 9-10 yrs old!! Is this the first time the bearings have gone on it. The reason I ask is I've got a Snipe single axle like yourself and wonder how long I'll get out of mine.

Ezgoing, can you post a pic of those self greasing caps I think I have them on my trailer but not sure??

Swginn,

We have had 2-3 years from this type of bearing; they get dipped in the sea and are stored outside. We have also had them cooked a couple of times without the problems you get with tapered rollers.

Couldnt really say which is the best in comparison though.
